Two Angels

Two Angels on my shoulder stay,
they're sent from Heaven's Throne;
My constant guides they'll ever be,
to lead me safely home.

...and when my heart does go astray,
they whisper in my ear;
to lead me back to Heaven's path,
and bring my Savior near.

Their message is the Law of Love,
the principle of peace;
if followed would diminish strife
and happiness increase.

But I must make the choice today
to listen when they speak;
as God's Word they remind me of
...whenever I am weak.

If I decide to shut my ears,
and listen not to them;
then they will leave me to my ways,
though they tried to be my friends.

I have to welcome these two here,
into my life and home;
then my protection is guaranteed
where ever I shall roam.
